With maybe the best weather of this Spring so far, the Spanish Fork Dons saw only sunshine on their way to a commanding win over the home team Timberwolves of Timpanogos.
The Dons maintained a strong possession game from whistle to whistle with the ball spending over 70 percent of its time at the Dons feet. The visiting Dons laid claim to the midfield moving the ball with nearly uncontested ease and relentless pushes to the front line.
Before the clock had logged five minutes three dangerous shots had been played hard to the Wolves keeper. By the eleventh minute, the Dons put a goal on the board.
Junior Enoch Pendleton beat the keeper on a short pass across the face from Junior Coleman Crockett. It proved to be the only score of the match as many additional and dangerously close attempts were unsuccessful.
“I have been excited for this group from the day they showed up to tryouts as Freshmen,” said head coach Shane Ferrin. “I knew they were special then and they’ve proven to be special since. Today only solidifies that belief for all of us.”
The Dons travel to St. George later this week to play teams from Cache Valley and Morgan.
