Spanish Fork High School vs Provo High School

OT2 -   1

In a match that saw an even exchange of possession, shots, and chances, the final score came down to two overtimes and only seven seconds.
With only 34 seconds in regulation play, the visiting Lady Dons came up with an equalizing goal after Senior Gracie Sorenson was taken down deep inside the box. Though injured from the tackle, Sorenson asked for the ball and buried the penalty kick, finding the left side of the frame and beating the Provo keeper.
The goal forced the ladies into overtime where golden goal meant that the first team to score would go away with the “W.” And it looked like neither squad would get the bragging rights and would share the points for the evening, but in a run that was arguably offsides, the flag stayed down and the final seven seconds saw the winning score sneak past Junior Keeper, Jessica Ahrens.
“I am so, so proud of these ladies!,” said coach Shane Ferrin. “They came alive tonight and we got to see magic!”
The Lady Dons return to play Thursday as they host the Red Devils of Springville for Senior Night at the Spanish Fork Sports Park.
